Last Chance digital stamp Sale

For those of you who have asked about my son, thank you!!!! I set up a new blog for him to keep everyone updated. It will remain a positive blog and not about the horrible disease he has, although there may be some info just to educate people and of course, it will talk about his journey. We have gone through some genetic testing and still have a lot of tests to go through, but we were told that he most likely has Maple Syrup Urine Disease. It sounds harmless but if he eats the wrong foods (anything with protein, etc) or gets even a small cold he could seizure, go into coma or die and that it can cause mental retardation, although with him it just got to the speech part of his brain. If you would like to check out his blog and stay up to date, be sure to check out Stryders Journey .

For today only, Sew Many Cards is having a sale on all of the 2009 Images. You will get 30 images for $10 PLUS with any $10 purchase you get the Free bonus Pack. But hurry, it's for today only because all of the images are being taken out of the store and replaced with a new look and quality and will not be available in the packs--

Also, if you haven't checked out the new videos, make sure to stop by and see what we have. Tomorrow (Friday 5/28/2010) there will be a new one on flowers!

use coupon MAYBONUS and apply prior to checking out. if it does not go through, we will catch it on the invoice and email the set to you.

There's Snowflake Like Home!

I missed the last Midnight Madness sketches, well at least the posting of them, due to technical issues. This week, I got one done early. I'm not sure why, but I really wanted to draw up a new snowman and thought the sketch would be perfect with snowflakes instead of the circles.

A pretty simple card with stickers layered on card stock and cut out, colored with Copic markers and added lots of stickles for some extra sparkle. I also layered the image.

Olliver Celebrates Digital Stamp Package and Tutorial

For the first time in a long time, I didn't use the Midnight Madness Sketch for the Paper Cutz Challenge card. For challenge # 36, make a card, LO or craft project using 3 patterned papers. That's it! Use any colors or theme you'd like, and post your name and a link to your creation in Mr Linky by midnight EST, Thursday,April 15th.

I thought I was going to be able to make two and the sketch for MMSC has ribbon-the card I had to make was ordered for a male and I just didn't think I could turn that sketch into a male card and a congratulations card. Also, I didn't have the perfect image for male colors that said "Way to Go!" so I made one up and put it in the store. The set comes with several sentiments perfect for any birthday or occasion. Olliver is holding a balloon with the words Congratulations in it and one without so you can add your own.The sentiments include: Congratulations, Happy Birthday and Way To Go!

The card I made is 8 X 12 (very large) because they needed something to big for a whole lot of signatures. The image is colored with my copic markers and sprayed with glitter mist. The balloon has dimensional glaze in it.

If you haven't taken the time to do my survey, please do. It's only five questions and I am using the feedback to help you. The overwhelming response is that you all want more help and tutorials to do with digital stamps, so we start today with how to layer your images.

Don't forget to get your freebie at Sew Many Challenges

LAYERING DIGITAL STAMPS

Open a new Word document and 'Insert Picture from File'.  This is where you will insert the digital Stamp. I used the new Freebie image available at Sew Many Challenges this week. With the image still selected Right click on image and choose 'Text Wrapping' and then choose 'Behind Text'. (pic below)

Next, insert another image (or paste it in the document) and do the same thing as the step above by right clicking text wrapping and behind text. This makes it so you can move the images around freely and layer them. You are also able to move the rotation of the pics just by clicking the green arrow. see pic below:

The great thing about PNG images is that the background is transparent, while JPG images have a white background. All of the SMC images in the shop have PNG included and you can unzip them to your documents and insert them into word or any other program you use for editing pictures. Check out Sew Many Cards for more information on unzipping files.

Hopefully this will help some of you- if you have ANY questions, feel free to email me at angela@sewmanycards.com.

Sign up for the SMC newsletter so you get firsthand views of new releases, Freebie Friday and coupons - You may even get featured in the newsletter, so keep your eye out!
